Southern Indiana ride

My wife took the day off work today and we headed out towards Brownstown, Indiana which is in the southern part of the state where we live. The weather was perfect -- temperature about 55 degrees, bright blue skies and plenty of sun. It was a touch on the windy side, but other than that you could ask for a better day to ride!

My favorite leg of this trip is SR 135 from Salem to Brownstown. It is full of sweeping curves and the final leg opens up into some of the most beautiful farmland I have ever laid my eyes on. We pulled over and snapped a few pics that simply don't do it justice...

I'd really like some pointers on the photography! My intent is to really start snapping pics as I take my rides this summer. I know these leave a lot to be desired, but I kept trying to think "Pashnit" when I framed my shots. Let me know any things I can do differently to really capture the "moments" when I'm out on two wheels!

Here's one of the VTX...

My better half...

Yours truly...

After pausing for a break and a few pics along SR 135, we headed on into Brownstown where I told my wife I had a surprise for her. We proceeded up Skyline Drive into the Jackson-Washington State Forest where I showed her this view that I discovered on some of my rides last summer...

These are just a few of the pics I took. We also took turns playing around with the camera trying to come up with those perfect "Pashnit" shots that are so famous on this board! Well, here goes...

The sun was coming at me on this pic so it was hard to frame it the way I wanted with the scenic background...

I kinda liked this one...

Another attempt...

My wife trying some profile (or whatever you call it ) shots...

I told her I hated this one...

Anyhow, I just wanted to share our ride today! I really would appreciate any photography tips anybody can give, because I don't have a magic finger when it comes to the shutter button!!!

Re: Southern Indiana ride

I like that Skyline Drive of 250 down there. It is always a place I have to stop at in the fall. I'm from Indianapolis here. I took a ride on April 21 2007 down 66 by Derby Indiana and found this boat ramp on the Ohio river. Well I can't get the pictures to upload so here is a link to them.

You stopped too soon, Go north from Brownstown on IN135 to Story and Stone Head and end up in Nashville, IN. Much better riding, twisties, hills & streams. At Stone Head you must read the inscription on the "Stone Head" in the yard. Carefull. there's only and a stone head, house and left turn there.

Re: Southern Indiana ride

No, I didn't stop too soon, I ran out of time. I'm very familiar with that stretch of road and ride it often. We just didn't have the time to cover the extra ground that day.
