I work at a nuclear facility, spent last night absorbing radiation inside the reactor compartment. Not nearly as glamorous as it sounds.

Unfortunately, the answer is "no". With heightened security concerns since 911, the answer is "absolutely no".

Some facilities have visitor centers, with some exhibits related to nuclear power generation. You might want to check to see if Rancho Seco has one.

Beautiful shot of the cooling towers!!

Common Joe. Go read the manual for the fancy-pants camera you've got.

Amazing shots Joe, the clarity and warmth of what you capture is always truly fascinating. Enough to go make me want to try and work to duplicate the style and feel of the shots.

Tripod + remote shutter fob thingy + setting the program. I think I can do that on my Canon Pro1. I think. I know got one of those remote shutter thingers + a tripod.

Btw Oricle, this looks like something straight out of a magazine the car company would create as ad copy! Seriously.

Re: random unmoto photos

I tried once to go and get a tour of a nuke facility, but with nobody around, the only thing I could find was a sign on the door, saying............

" Gone FISSION "

............I know, I know,........just a lame attempt to be funny.........

that was actually the link that got me interested in it in the first place. i had no idea that there was a nuclear plant in my back yard. ive searched around the web for information, and there isnt much else out there, just here and wikipedia. you might want to add that a natural gas power facility has been added to the property.

just took this picture last night, and thought i would share:
