I've got Friday off.

Come around 1700 hrs, the BBQ will wait until Tom arrives. Bring an empty stomach.

My partner said he is going to bring me some Elk steak and sausage tomorrow. Guess what will be added to the meat mix...

Three more days and it is dirty ride time!!

Hi Mark,

I'm still all in. Scrubbed in some fresh Metzler's and working a few hours of overtime this week so I can leave Monterey on Friday by 1pm. Stomach's growling for some good eats.

Hi Mark, pretty much packed and loaded. Traveling light. Will head out from Monterey to Bakersfield around 1pm tomorrow from work place. Have good google directions to your place; west Bakersfield off Rosedale (Hwy 58). Looking forward to some grilled Elk and dirty riding, visiting with friends this weekend.

Rib eye steaks,
Elk (New York cut),
Brats & hot links,
Garlic bread,
Potato casserole,
Salad,
Apple pie with triple vanilla ice cream,
Newcastle.

Judy has decided that too much food is just about right. I'm thinking there might be some leftovers.

Tom do you still have my cell number?

Hey Mark, I'm good. Have map right to your doorstep with phone #. Menu sounds awesome. I've been on top ramen noodle diet, tired of it, wholesome food is making my mouth water. Can't wait to ride. Any fires on the route we should think about? Seems like a real high fire season.

Tom

Re: Rancheria Rd to Forest Road 23S16 / 6-30-07

I'm all set and ready to go.

I plan to leave pre-dawn Sat. A.M. and slab it up to the Chevron meeting spot with time to spare.

See you all there.

Re: Rancheria Rd to Forest Road 23S16 / 6-30-07

Twenty five hours and counting.

All is clear along the route (no fires)...so far. Conditions in the Sierras can change rapidly with fires and Summer rain storms but no need to fret. I will be stopping at the end of the first section of goaty pavement to set suspension and let some air out of tires. At Shirley Meadows ski slope, we will need to air back up for the trip to the airport burgers. On returning to the dirt the process will be repeated until we reach Western Divide Hwy. I have a Slime compressor (it was on sale) but if you have your own I'd suggest you bring it as the rider count is six.

Rider briefing will happen at the end of the first pavement (by the cattle pens). My main rule is the head count, you are responsible for the rider in your mirror. I also like to stay together but some may be alpha riders in dirt (I am not one of those). If some want to roll ahead be advised that there are numerous forks and you will need to wait up. Rancheria goes from goaty pavement to dirt to extreme goat and back to dirt (several times). A bit past the Pozo Flats road (past the tight turns with deepish sand), the dirt gets sweet for a high speed roll on in sections...

Can you tell my mind is in excitement overdrive?
