Slovakia Poland (Auschwitz)
Time to leave Slovakia and head for poland which is just up the road a few miles and as you can see the road goes from little to big , this is where the euro is going at the moment .
Dont know if we would build like this ,but it goes for miles back and will soon bypass the village we stayed in . Leaving Slovakia we cross the border into poland and things look a lot better on the other side well around here they do ,, Polish side and no problem with customs here so off we go , Left or right Krackhow will do mick Things soon change to poor roads so we take a bit of time on this patch and just as well a police speed trap just up the road waiting for us , but we see it and pass through no bother This is the place we are looking for ,they changed the name to Auschwitz camp some where along the line ,a few questions for directions from the locals and we find the camp just outside the village and it is enormous . After parking up and having a look at a few notes we entered the camp and followed a guide for a tour round , the place was packed with tourists and it was a hot day 35c so i done a walk about alone and then went for a pint of beer , it shure felt odd in this place and after taking a 100 pictures went back to the bikes with my own thoughts about this place , My thoughts on this place Peace . Some nice buildings around here ,a casino and cafe look well in the squarebut we never went in , Our hotel for the night in the CK Republic nice and clean with some good views of the square , it was a busy town with a few dark corners here and their so we never stayed out to late and kept a keen eye on our bikes , Should not of worried about bikes still their next day .. All ready to leave , well Mick is but he does not know where we are going so we let him lead and tell him later ,, We should head for Germany but lets see where we end up .

Thankx Meskie for your pictures. It gives a good impression of your trip.My wife and I visited some concentrationcamps. But Auschwitz was not one of those. Unbelieveble that there are people who say nothing happened.

Re: Slovakia Poland (Auschwitz)
Thanks for the ride along John - really enjoying all the pics on your moto vacation, likely b/c just seeing all the bulidings in poland in a day-to-day perspective is alays interesting.
Good bit on Auschwitz - over the years, I have seen several good photo threads about this place, and always feels very somber reverent place just from the pics. A million miles away, but the pics bring all the book knowledge about place & event a little closer. |
