Let's just say I won't be doing that again on a Sportster. Next tour I'll be showing up with either a BMW GS or a Japanese sport touring bike.

Hey Wayne - it was clear sailing, clean road, and intense views. Nothing like a few months prior when you rode it. It was our master plan just to take you guys up there to play in the snow.

Yeah, Snow Burnouts, right Tim!

Pete, I (we) was SO IMPRESSED with your riding and how you improved throughout the weekend. Every time I looked back after a quick twisty, you were there filling up the mirror! It was about as fast as you'll ever want to go unprotected. Get some more leather (pants), no fringe , and you'll be king.

Re: Surfin' the NorCal with Pashnit Motorcycle Tours

The lead picture in this thread of Alan “Surfing the NorCal” is destined to become a classic on the Pashnit website. The panorama version of “Surfing the NorCal” captures the immense scale of this setting. Alan appears as a small figure riding the west-facing crest of a wave of earthly crust 5,000 feet high and miles long. In the background are other such waves of crust which in the human time scale appear to be stationary, but in a geologic time scale are moving rapidly westward on the leading edge of the North American tectonic plate. These waves, which we perceive as mountains, were formed as dense oceanic crust underlying the Pacific Ocean collided with the edge of the less dense rocks of the North American continent. The heavier oceanic crust was forced beneath the lighter continental crust and the oceanic sediments that had accumulated on the surface of the oceanic crust were scraped off, uplifted, and accreted (or glued) to the edge of the continent. It is these former oceanic sediments, buckled and tossed a mile high, that Alan is surfing upon.

The “Surfing the NorCal” photo, as impromptu and spontaneous as it appears to be, was actually preceded by a very touching, caring exchange between two fellow human beings; brethren joined by the love of two-wheels and a hot pulsing engine placed between their legs and ridden with fantastic skill and grace.

The next two photos capture the moments preceding “Surfing the NorCal”, and they define the innuendo and demeanor of the group during our three days together:

First was prayer; a fitting response to the cathedral of natural beauty that we were experiencing……

Kelly...I sense a very rich form of genius beneath that helmet of yours...both academic and comedic. I saw your post this morning when I came to work and have not stopped laughing...thanks. I hope Henry gets those things removed soon though, otherwise even a Corbin won't help!

The Rossi impersonation on the tree trunk just didn't go over like we thought. I've got 100lb on the kid. Alan, thank for the professional "look see" anyway. Better safe than sorry!

Henry: I am busting up laughing at my desk. . When I first saw Kelly's picture that he posted of you, I said "What is Henry doing"? Furthermore, "what is Alan doing"?

I don't know Henry when you look at your avatar picture and that finger maybe Alan should have been on the tree trunk.
