Thinking about making the 3 day Nor Cal tour I live in Nevada City and Hwy 36 sounds like a winner. Anyone made this trip let me know how you liked it.

Thanks Cooper

Re: Surfin' the NorCal with Pashnit Motorcycle Tours

They are all outstanding trips but the NorCal Tour is a piece of heaven. Two years ago I was on the trip with some guys from Dubai (see fadiRR) and on Sunday after the Legget to the coast 22 mile section they said that anybody who lived out here and did not do this every weekend was F*****g crazy and they had just seen the best riding every.

I agree.

This trip is a must do. I have done 7 trips I think so far with Tim and Tim and there is no better time on a motorcycle than a trip planned and with them. Economics took me out in 2009 but I have three trips planned for 2010. ( now maybe four because I have to be on the Dubai Brothers Tour whatever and whenever that turns out to be) I found that once you have done these trips it is hard to stay away. The roads, the people, the sense of being about motorcycles and riding.

So Cooper sign up and lets see you on a ride. Fadi, can't wait to see you again. Alan, the gauntlet has been thrown better be there to face off against Fadi

My wife & I took advantage of the 3-day NorCal tour this past April. This tour usually flies twice a year, once in April & I believe the other is in August. If you are able, take the tour in April. You would want to see Balinas Ridge while it is all green and full of wild flowers. A beautiful sight. It would be a different experience when all the rolling hills are brown and burnt looking.

As for Hwy 36, you will only see the western half on this 3-day tour. You'll see the stretch of Hwy 36 from Fortuna to Hwy 3, or vice-versa depending on which direction Tim is running the tour. If you want to see the other famous portion of Hwy 36 (from Hwy 3 to Red Bluff), you'll need to sign up for a different tour or plan your own ride.

Since you are from Nevada City, CA, maybe on day 3 of your tour you should split off from the tour group and take Hwy 36 from Fortuna to Red Bluff on your way home (about 140 miles). This way you'll get to ride both famous portions of Hwy 36. Otherwise Day 3 goes south from Fortuna down Hwy 101 and then Hwy 1.

Enjoy
