Throttle Wear Folsom gone bust?

Anybody know what happened to the Throttle Wear store in Folsom?

I went by yesterday to get a new helmet and the doors were locked and almost the entire sales floor was empty...

Me too .. they are a great bunch of guys ...

I fear " mail order guys" may have done them in ---

we really need to support these local shops --

-so many guys will do mail order to save one buck sad --

Thottle Wear always took time to make sure the product fit and was the right gear that I needed ----

plus their swap meet was a cool deal too

Well a search of Pashnit.com for Throttlewear lists one member with that name and his last post was back in Jun. I looked at his profile and got a hit on a thread he had posted in that listed the store hours and phone number. I tried to call that number and I got a recording saying they were unavailable. When it switched over to voicemail, it said the voicemail box was full. So it would appear that something is amiss. I hope everything is alright for them. Maybe some other members that live in the Folsom area can post up and enlighten us.

One of my sales reps told me that he did close his store. Having my own store, I know how hard it is to compete against the internet. Keith is a nice guy and ran a very nice store.

Not only did throttle wear have to compete with the Internet, there is Roseville Cycle to contend with...they have a much more extensive selection of street and dirt gear, it was hard for me to see the advantage Throttle Wear had. While I did attend the swap meets, I was never able to find the right gear to fit me in the store, and resorted to the web or the dreaded Roseville Cycle Center...I don't like them, but they do stock a huge selection of apparel and gear. I will often try on gear there and then shop the web for a better price

Mark aka Cheeseburger from Throttlewear appears to be working at Sid's Place in Sierraville now.I rode by there Sunday and there was someone out there waving but I didn't put 2 & 2 together and rode on thru.

The throttlewear website now reports that the account is suspended, but I saw a page cached by google that had a notice from Keith stating they were closing the doors in July.

I was on Throttle Wear's mailing list and got an email from them a couple weeks ago announcing that they had closed the doors permanently. These were terrific people and great supporters of the riding commmunity. I will miss them.
