70-71 AMA season, old racing photos

OK I'm done with my online photo album.

http://picasaweb.google.com/billxmailman/AllMCPhotos#

It shows pictures I took during the 70-71 season at San Jose. Plus just other m/c related pictures. I took pictures for someone else so these are only the few that I took for myself.Even a picture of my Matchless.

Wow! These are great shots - love the action shots. Reminds me of being at the Sacramento Mile and standing right up by the fence and having these things zoom by. Whadda rush! Great memories X.

Yep, that was the Matchless. Featherbed frame and all.Could you imagine todays marketing types talking about a " Featherbed" frame?

Sold it to buy a HD Sportster. Matchless handled much better. Sportster would "bind" up in a corner then the rear end would step out to the side. YeeHah!!

Bill any pic's from Trans Am motocross at Sears Point, Very intrested where the track was laid out as relation to the road corse. Some very big hills surounding the road course.

Don't know if this is related, but few years back did a fun little photo shoot of the vintage dirtbike races at Sears Point. The dirt track they have there was pretty homey. Haven't been there though since they pumped all that money into the place just recently.

No Tim it was much earler around 1974 It was called the Trans Am series it ran in the fall the Euro's would come over and battle the Americans, the riders were the likes of Roger Decoster, Hekki Mikkola, Gerrit Wolsink, Brad Lacky, Marty Smith, Jimmi Weinert, Garry Semics and on and on. Motocross from 74 to about 84 was my favorite period of racing bar none.
