Extraterrestrial Highway, Nevada - Hwy 375

This summer we made an adventure ride out of our trip from Henderson Nevada to Sacramento. I didn’t really like the way Zumo was routing our trip, so I decided to divert from the plotted course. What could be more interesting then a trip on the E.T. Highway, and what trip on the E.T. Highway would be complete without a stop at World Famous Rachel Nevada.
Due to the July heat, about 110 degrees, the fact that we are from Alaska, and the wife’s comments about riding in a clothes dryer or riding across the surface of the sun, we didn’t stop for many photo ops. I did however have to take some photos of Rachel and the Little A’Le’Inn. I missed the Black Mailbox, and Photos of Area 51 in the distance, but there is always next year.
If you are riding to Rachel from Las Vegas, be sure to get fuel at Ash Springs, Rachel is 60 miles north, then the next gas is Tonopah, about 100 to 110 miles north of Rachel. The nice folks at the Little A‘Le’Inn keep a few gallons around for people that may not make it.
So here are the few photos I did get.....

In case you might have a breakdown....

A couple of the more interesting Patrons....

Real Road Art....

A BBQ in Rachel.....

I need to go back and get more photos of the long lonley road and the general area. The ride really is enjoyable, the people of Rachel friendly, and who knows what you might see while riding through Area 51.....

Great pics Jeff! Just one of those things you've got to cross off the list.

Ally...it should be a must stop if you are touring around Nevada. Think you woulkd get a kick out of the place.

Tim...
Thanks forthe kind words.
Should have known you would have been there....hard to get someplace you haven't been...
Hope to see you out on the road sometime!
Thanks for the map posting, I am still trying to figure out how to do that.

Since our son has moved to Henderson I am trying to talk him into buying a Buell Ulysses so he can go out and explore Nevada. Then when old Dad comes to visit I can ask for the keys to the Uly....kind of like when he wanted to borrow the car when he was in High School

Also, if any folks from the Las Vegas or Arizona area are headed to the Fall gathering, they might want to work the E.T. Highway into their ride. Will not be as hot this time of the year.

It's an obligatory stop if you are on Hwy 375.

We were just there, got the t-shirt & pic's, we're good!

You need to be carefull, the ailens are there, they stand in the fields and just look like plain old cows, but an expreienced eye can tell the difference....

The black mail box is now white and enclosed in a steel shell due to all the "attention" it gets. You can tell it by all the autographs and such all over it.
