Sunday Morning Ride
Hi all, yes, I am new.... Will fill a few things in about myself shortly.
I was living in San Fran for about 4 years and did the SUnday Morning Ride, along HWY1 virtually every sunday. Is the ride still on???? Thanks Mitch |

I will be honest, I look at all the ride pics and I can remember all the roads that you guys ride in CA.. I can close my eyes now and see it all right now...... Riding is great, but not as good as the Good Old USofA |

Hey! Welcome Mitch! I only spent a month in Melbourne back in the 80's but it was really a nice city. Drove around quite a bit but I can see some of the roads would be good on a bike. What is that one... Port Campbell Hwy?
Definitely post some photos of where you ride! We'd love to see 'em.

Last I heard it was still going on. It has been around for over 40 years now and doubt it will ever die. I have not been onit for about 15 years. Think it is safer for my health not to do that ride anymore ... never had a problem but just drove way too fast doing it - my clock was running out. Saw enough squids bite it hard tho.

A couple years ago the CHP laid some serious hate on the SMR ride; guys went to jail, bikes to impound yards, riders to lawyers Since then, it's public face has dissapeared, but I suspect (and hear) it continues "under the table", organized in private and by word of mouth.

WOW, are you guys serious????
Damn it, that was one of the best rides ever. We used to do it virtually every sunday. Leave at the back of the pack and beat everyone before hitting the meeting point just before Stinson beach.... Ohhhh, the memories.  Back in October, I think the 3rd, I did the ride (on my Motard) with a blow up doll facing backwards...... They loved it.... Funnilly enough, still beat everyone.....  But, alas, my time also ran out, the following weekend, I bit the big one and was introduced to the all mighty on 2 occassions but was not accepted  Hey, are there any websites that talk about what happened a couple of years ago???? |
