Death Valley South Access
This is the time of year many of us choose to make a run through Death Valley. I used 395/190 to enter the valley, but came home today on Panamint Valley Road to Trona/Ridgecrest. The good news is they are laying new asphalt. The bad news is they are laying new asphalt
At about Trona Wildrose Rd they have done the grading but it is dirt and gravel for about 3 miles. It's doable (on my Busa anyways), but not the most pleasant and you need to keep the speed down a tad. After the rain we had up there the last couple days, it is very possible that it could be a muddy mess. Should be a great improvement as they get more and more completed however. The post storm front winds and cold temps this AM made the ride back to LA quite an exercise enjoy |

If there is any way for anyone to get out to DV on Tuesday or Wednesday, temps are going to be pushing near 80 degrees both days. Might be the nicest we'll see it out there until late February/early March. |
