Re: 2007 my 1st year on a Dual Sport....
Thanks Donna.....the water shot....well that was back in early March....and the bike still had the paper dealer logo on it. The water was a first for me, and the mud....I can't tell you how many times I dropped that bike in the mud that day!...This riding in the dirt etc....is very different that what I am used to. But I am taking a liking to it.
Ride safe!!!

Re: 2007 my 1st year on a Dual Sport....
Dan....thanks on the pics!
Well I bought it because a lot of friends were getting them to play in the dirt! Which I had no experience at all in the dirt! So I have been enjoying it very much. Over all for what I am using it for is commuting and an occasional dirt trip(more like fire trails). At first I thought that it was great...after a point in time and dirt terrain in the dirt I saw the tires were more street than dirt....and after I rode a friends dirt bike only I saw how much less a dirt bike weighs and behaves in the dirt. But I guess that a "Dual Sport" is the great comprise between dirt & street. So on that note...I really do like the bike.....it has been serving me well. Ride safe!

Re: 2007 my 1st year on a Dual Sport....
Yeah I understand the comprimise, I am totally interested I getting a bike that I can use on dirt and fire roads. I am debating on going with a 400 or 650, but on gnarley dirt trails even a 400 feels abit big, I am on the short side. So, many choices your range is so much better though on the 650.

Hi Larry, thanks for sharing, I especially liked the water crossing.
![]() Nice bike, and sure you'll enjoy many more fun rides. Some of those roads/trails looked familiar. There are many great dirt roads like these to explore just north in the Lassen area east of Chico. Look forward to seeing more of your reports.

Hi Larry,
I'm new here as well. Nice pictures and great bike. I've had 2 DR650's and they were both fantastic bikes. I wish I lived up in your neck of the woods. Looks like great riding. |

wow! great pics. I rode with Redding Dirt Riders in December, and that was some very similar riding. Their next ride is in Red Bluff and should be just as fun...check out NorCaldualsport.com . My DRZ400 is the blue one on the front page...Let's ride!
