Re: Riding atop Peavine Ridge & the descent into Jaybird Canyon
Wow! I'd been wondering about Peavine, too. Went up a few miles of it a few years ago, but had to turn back because I was a little low on gas, and didn't know if it was paved through back to 50.
Now I gotta go back up there...

That's gorgeous! Did I miss something Tim or do you have an ST1100?

Re: Riding atop Peavine Ridge & the descent into Jaybird Canyon
Tim - Thanks for another great photo story. I ride my ZZR on Ice House and Wentworth Springs a lot but I am anxious to ride my KLR on some of the other roads that you show here.

Re: Riding atop Peavine Ridge & the descent into Jaybird Canyon
wow !!
Tim, as always some of these pics are just out of a magzine quality. simply breathtaking -- specially the valley reservoir panorama is something one would enlarge and hang on the wall. While I have never ridden on icy / snowy roads .. it felt scary looking at the pics. I wonder if I would go further or just return ..:scratc |

Re: Riding atop Peavine Ridge & the descent into Jaybird Canyon
Hi Rod, I have since sold the ST1100. Wish I could say I've posted up pics the very next day after every ride I've ever taken, these are from a short while ago. I've got a ton more pics of other rides too. This one was to go photograph this road. Best part was that power house at the end. Had no idea.
![]() The ST was a good bike, I bought it for freeway commuting to my job, 60 miles each way, so I wouldn't have to put that mileage on the Hayabusa. It never quite fit me right though with its Bill Mayer seat and tall Heli bars. I've met guys that swore by that bike too. |

Tim nice work! Your taunting me with these wonderful photo/story pages of the roads. Im about to buy a subscription just so I can read and look at the pictures
Wished I lived in striking distance, but being in Texas seems doubtful I will be out that way anytime soon.
