Here is another pic of a memorible area that you missed... The charcoal kilns off Wildrose.

I have been to the kilns and Mahagony camp but we didn't have time to stop this trip and the road to Mahagony had snow and ice I was told. It is a great place to stop. Mahagony is where the hiking trail starts to walk to Telescope Peak. That is why it has taken me four trips this year to DV to see most of DV. There are still places I haven't been to yet like Steele Pass and Echo Canyon.

The same week-end Jim 2 on 2 off lead his larger adventure bike tour, I lead 10 duel sport riders on a 350 mile loop starting in Ridgecrest, working our way to Trona, through some single track switch back into Goler Wash, into Furnace Creek, through Echo Canyon into Beaty Nevada for day one. Then working our way to Ryolite Ghost town, Titus Canyon(very cool carvings on rock from ancient dwellers of the area), Ballarat Ghost town, and back to Ridgecrest. We had our share of challenges....flat tire, crashes with one rider blacking out.......yikes!! We ended up riding riding 60 miles in the dark to finish day one. We started at 7am in Ridgecrest and finished in Beaty at 7:45pm.
Here are a few pics......was very busy staying on the right trail and keeping ten riders together... Ater day two, most of the riders rear knobbies were spent.... I guess that means it was a good week end....

Hey Jim, sounds like you guys had a blast too. We hung around Beatty Saturday night until 7pm, then cruised down to Stovepipe as it was real dark (new moon) and the wind was starting to howl. Glad you all made it safe. Sounds like we were following your fresh tracks Sunday morning through Titus canyon. That was a really great dirt ride, very scenic. What trails did you take after Titus back to Ballarat?

After Titus Canyon, we rode the road to Ballarat and did a dirt loop starting on a rode called Indian. After Ballarat, we rode the rode to Stove Pipe, Trona and into Ridgecrest. We cut out a large portion of the dirt. Our riders were tired.

This was one of my most memorable rides to Death Valley last year.

This ride was ideal for the R1200GSA.

Really nice and diverse pictures. I'm thinking of doing DV on my GS this year. I'll definitely be referring to this thread to help plan my route!
