It was wet, cold, but we made the best of it. Someone mentioned we had hit temps as low as the high 30s.

We had also hit Old Stage Rd, Inervess Rd, and Philo Greenwood Rd on the way back out to the ocean before heading on up to Fort Bragg for the night. Trying out a new hotel- Pine Beach Inn. It sounded good. 11 acres with a private beach, plus views of the ocean from the rooms.

The timing was perfect, and we hit it right at dusk, so I hurried down to the beach to check it out.




Typical ocean windy on the beach. By now I was so cold from the wet temps all day, I couldn't get the camera to work.

Sun had already set and I was shivering so badly, I wasn't able to hold the camera steady with the 1/30th of a second exposure to get a pic. All the pics were blurry.

Finally, I set the camera down on a rock, and held it down tightly and tried to gently push the shutter.

There's two types of cold. There's cold, and then there's Motorcycle Cold.

At the sunrise of Day 2, walked down to the beach and snapped this. Can't take a bad pic here.

If you haven't heard about the 22 mile section of Hwy 1 that rides from the ocean on over to Leggett, picture one of the twistiest slices of heaven man could create!

I have filmed this, photographed it, but still to this day, have never really been able to capture the essence of what it feels like to ride it.

Riders talk about the 'Tail of the Dragon' back east. But imagine if you could double the length, plus remove all the cars.

Then on to the Avenue of the Giants. One of those places you can ride through over and over, and it never gets old.

While locals are likely used to scenes like this, for our Canadians, they'd never ever seen anything like this up close.

These things can get 360 feet tall. That's nearly 40 stories.
