A Few Days in California
On a recent trip from North Carolina to California, I managed to escape the San Diego/ L.A. megalopolis. Having the advice of local riders, I found CA 73 and took CA 243 over to Banning. Reversing my route, I rode back to CA 74 and took it into Palm Desert. A few days later, I rode with some new best friends over to Death Valley. You guys sure do live in a nice part of the world. I gotta get back out there!

Yup, I'm rolling them up in a profound effort to wear this motor out as soon as I can. She's taken me over 36,000 in 14 months. I got back from a month-long tour about two weeks ago and have to wait until late April before I ride to Colorado for a business opportunity. I'll do my work in three days and will take about a week or ten days to get back to NC. After that, my wife and I will head for Montana in late June for a three week vacation trip. It's shaping up to be a good riding year. Mike |

Mike, I didn't realize you are one of the epic travellers on the forum. I am so jealous!
![]() I can't wait for the opportunity to be able to travel like that.

Matt, at 60 years of age, I decided I've had enough of commercial air travel over the last 30 years. I quit flying three years ago and take my BMW whenever and wherever I can. If it's a "coat and tie" trip, I ship my clothes to the hotel, put on my Darien suit and hit the road. I'm having a great time and I don't miss airports at all! ![]() Mike |
