Little Cottonwood Canyon ride

Happy Spring everyone. I got out early Sunday morning (before the wife and kids got out of bed ) and went for a fun ride up Little Cottonwood Canyon.

Seems that the warm weather convinced everyone to take their bikes out of storage and ride this weekend - loads of bikes on the road. Good to see it.
Of course with all the rusty riders out it was bound to happen: http://www.sltrib.com/news/ci_8918743 “the 25-year-old male driver and his 21-year-old female passenger were going down the canyon at a high rate of speed and passed vehicles on a double yellow line before entering the curve too fast.” Thank goodness they were wearing helmets according to another news report. They ended up in the rocks on the side of the road and it could have been a lot worse.

Anyway, enough talking, here are a few photos of my ride:

First photo is at he top of the canyon at 8950' and the second and third photo shows that there is still plenty of snow for good spring skiing. The last two are of a fun sections of curves and a look at the valley down the canyon.

Re: Little Cottonwood Canyon ride

Paul, It is a nice ride and only 15 minutes from my house The road up to the top of the canyon is about 12 miles long from the base and consists of mostly 35 mph (posted) curves.
