Just when I start to get settled here out west, you make me want to go back east again!

Re: a few days in the Georgia mountains

My vacation started last week at Road Atlanta for the "Mitty" three days of racing including vintage cars and bikes. The yellow RD is much like my old R5 350. A great way to start my holiday... Monday my wife, Janice, doggie, Clarabelle and myself left for the mountains. My wife drove our Miata and i rode my ZR550.

Re: a few days in the Georgia mountains

OK you guys asked for a few more pics. First pic is our little (rental)house in the mountains. Second pic is early morning view from the back deck. Next pic is GA highway 60, about 40 miles of just like this(and better!) from Dahlonega GA to Blue Ridge GA. Note there's not much room for error or room for pull offs. Wish I could have more road pics but it just wasn't safe to pull off in many places. More good photos to come... later today.

Re: a few days in the Georgia mountains

I had a pretty busy day today, seems I have some mystery problems with my bike. It started to run a bit funky on Friday morning after I filled with gas for the ride home from the mountains. At first I thought I may have bought some bad gas, then when I got home I found my bike was only running on three cylinders at low revs. At higher revs it seemed ok. My first thought was a faulty spark plug wire. I've been kind of going round and round with it yesterday and today. I have spark but it is still running bad. Maybe some gunk in the carbs? At least I made it home ok. I put some seafoam in the gas tank and ran it a bit. I'll set it sit for a day or so and then get back to it. Maybe I have spark but not enough to make it run right. I think a couple days away from it will give me a clear head to figure things out. I don't really have the talent to break down a bank of four carbs so I hope a simple fix is in the works. Now, maybe some more pics for y'all to enjoy. First up is the ZR 550 in front of the Blue ridge GA depot, a country lane, Chestatee gap overlook from GA hwy 60, the ZR550 next to a mountain pasture, another pic from downtown Blue Ridge, "Trahlyta's grave" historical marker and finally the "rock pile" at the heart of motorcycle country hwy's US129 and GA60. I suppose even though my bike was starting to act up a bit, the Cherokee princess got us home safe after we paid our respects by tossing some stones her way

I'll try to post some more pics tomorrow, I've got tons of em... that's all for now y'all.

Re: a few days in the Georgia mountains

I didn't take any of the required food photos but we did take some flora and fauna shots for everyone to enjoy....and the obligatory sunrise shot.
