Alaska trip 6.23.08

Posted this up in general by mistake. My apologies to the moderator.

I am headed from San Francisco to Alaska in June. Looks like all my riding buddies are bailing. Probably need to be back in the bay area the week of July 14-18 or so.

Looking for a riding pal. Easygoing, sense of adventure, open, cheerful and have own funds. Will be camping with some motel stays... you know the drill.

I am riding a MuZ Scorpion Traveler. Yep its a 660 single.

looks like ~3,277 one way so some motorcycle travel experience is recommended -

You will need your own bike. Plan on ~9k Miles round trip ...

Steve,

I understand your dilemma...often finding myself traveling alone because of changed plans of others.

I may be able to accompany you to Alaska...my wife always worries when I travel alone. This would be my first trip to Alaska.

Let's see how I measure up...

easygoing (most of the time)
sense of adventure (it's in my blood)
open (yup)
cheerful (until gasoline hits $10.00 per gallon or I run over a skunk !!)
have own funds (I better go before gas hits $20.00 per gallon !!)
will need your own bike that can make ~9k Miles round trip (it's a Bimmer !!)

My ride is a 1995 BMW R1100GS with about 100K miles and I am a new MSF RiderCoach residing in Morgan Hill, CA...the town noted for mushrooms !!!

Hmmm... what's your route look like? I drove up from L.A. years ago, and I've been thinking about doing it again on 2 wheels.

Long distance experience? Let's see -- I've ridden L.A. to Tahoe and back in a day, a couple times, just 'cuz I was bored, and L.A. to Denver and back is a regular weekend trip to visit family. Does that suffice?

Yoo! Steve:
Just checked my riding/vacation schedule,,Got the week of the 23rd off and don't have to be a responsible person again until the following Monday..
I've got the season Pass for the Pashnit group, and their next ride is the Laguna MotoGP. If you don't mind me tagging along, I could Escort you as far as the Canadian Border or when you sick of me. Will be riding the 99 R1100 GS with the 10 gal tank so don't worry about Fuel...I'm just on the other side of the Pond (well maybe a puddle) from you, in the East Bay near BeZerkly..
