Hayabusa Undertails - all about trying to find the right one

I'm trying to find an undertail kit for my fiance's Hayabusa, for Christmas. I can't find them anywhere! The only thing I'm able to find are small license plate brackets that replace the ugly plastic stock fender. I'm looking for the complete plastic undertail piece that matches the body paint and integrates the tail lights - I can find them easily for almost every other bike out there, but not the Busa! Anybody know where I can dig one up?

Re: Hayabusa undertail???

There are heaps of undertails out there, plenty of variety....one that I do recommend that didn't get a mention is the Mototeck Undertail.

enjoy....also check out their face gauges...

Re: Hayabusa undertail???

Thanks guys! Those Mototeck ones look really nice. Do either of you have pics of them actually installed on a bike?

Re: Hayabusa undertail???

I'm doing a bit of homework on undertails so thought I'd post my journey to find the right one & add to this thread. Undertails seem so wildly popular, that manufactures are redesigning the look of bikes to match this sleek and clean look. Might be some useful info for those wondering about these sorts of things. I have a Mototeck on there right now with some aftermarket LED lights added to it. http://www.mototeck.com

Since MotoTeck is the one that's on there, I went to their site first. Runs about $300 for a complete unit. Slightly different design than the one that was on my Hayabusa.

Note the position of the turn lamps are tucked underneath. Works fine until you put saddlebags on the bike.

The cheapy ones on eBay are about $145, and the rest of them seem to be around $300 for a complete unit for the Hayabusa.

Some pics of the MotoTeck unit... Thermoformed abs plastic Undertail with tail and flasher lens clear, Leds light bulbs, led license light, license plate rack, wires, rivets included. Note: no extra charge for red tail lens or amber flasher lens.

$299

Here's one by Yana Shiki - Click to see more pics

You will need a turn signal integrator with this one which Yana Shiki sells separately.

Another one off eBay - this one looks too much like some sort of alien or something.

Integrators are cool but not that noticable and cops can still get ya for it.

I got a tiger tail. Looks okay. Makes it so my lowered bike can ride two up and i can lower it to the ground.

after i took the tail out i mounted the lights though the holes where the push pins go. How does he ride, speed, touring, twisties, stunts....
