Stowe Vermont to North Conway, NH and the Kangamangus Highway

BLASTING down the Kangamangus Highway. I spent the entire lengh at more than 80 MPH and in some places way more than that! Sport bike riders galore and everyone was super cool about passing and everyone I saw rode very safely (even at speed).

I went to the White Horse Press open house and BBQ yesterday. The ride was amazing. I met a guy headed in the same direction and he took me over Ragged Mountain. The road is the width of a golf cart path and it was the gnarlyist most insane road I've ever been on. You could seriously wadd yourself into a smoking hunk of rubber and metal if you made a mistake. Blind corners, decreasing radius turns, uneven pavement, steep climbs and even steeper downhills. At one point I felt the rear end coming off the ground under braking. Just crazy.

This is the route I took. This was a great ride and would be even better in the fall for foliage. Tons of sweeping curves and there is plenty of nice scenery.

At the base of Mt. Washington.

The big crowd at White Horse. Got there at 12:30 for the BBQ but it was already gone. I had the only Aprilia there. Tons of BMW's. It looked like the owners were trying to out accessorize each other. I think the accessories cost more than the bikes!

Do you think this guy has enough junk on his bike?

A quick stop at the Army Navy for some funny t-shirts.

This is one reason to ride in Vermont - empty roads!

THANK GOD IT'S SUMMER!

Looks beautiful there! Always great to see some roads and hear adventures from elsewhere.

That one guy definitely needs more junk on his bike! hahaha

How do they even see the bikes own gauges? Do you need 2 batteries? While I've been in the area never on a bike. Looks nice and I like the pace.

Re: Stowe Vermont to North Conway, NH and the Kangamangus Highway

Was in Vermont last week (from the Baltimore area), fun roads to ride on. Stopped in Waterbury for the Ben and Jerry's tour, then rode south on route 100 to Rutland. Maybe saw a dozen cars from Stowe to Killington. Anxious to do the area again when it isn't raining. Also, check out route 2 from Rousse's Point NY south. Slow around Burlington, but OK other than that.

For those of you that haven't ridin' in VT, NH or Maine, You don't know what you're missing. Beautiful mountains and many "twisties". Between Rutland, VT and Concord, NH. on US 4 is "breathtaking". Great pics.

Maybe that guy is the real Inspector Gadget!!

That looks like a fun place to ride for sure! I'd love to ride there in the fall though, like you suggested! Too bad you missed out on the good eats! Gotta get there real EARLY before the swarm wipes it clean except for the bones! Great pictures...loved the last one of you too!!!

This is Beaver Pond on the Kancamagus Highway. Beautiful area up that way. This was from a trip to see my sister in Stoddard, NH.

The map you routed failed to show the Kancamagus Highway, which is Rt 112 East from Lincoln to Conway.
