Day Trip to Fall Creek Lake

Deck stained, yards mowed, weeds pulled, music practiced, trees pruned...it was time for a ride and a pic-nic. We took off with our Sherpa Buddies, Kelly and Mary, stopping at Albertsons for grub and gas, then on to Fall Creek Lake, one of Lane County's many man-made lakes. This lake covers the Fall Creek Drainage, which is a substantial contributor to the Willamette River.

Ready to go, and the requisite food shot.

On the way, bypassing the slab. If Kelly had waited about 10 seconds to snap the pic, the Three Sisters would have been on the horizon.

Some shots of the lake, the flora and fauna, and the relaxing.

On the way home. The bridge is Unity Covered Bridge, over Fall Creek. The conversation at the intersection is me pointing out to Karyn that this is where I have, on several occasions, done and inadvertant patrol check of Little Fall Creek Rd. (a dead end) when I have not made enough left turns to get to where I want to go.

All in all, it was about a 100 mile round trip, with a pic-nic lunch, at an uncrowded park, with a beautiful lake, good friends and fun. Temp was about 75 degrees, moderate breeze. Ahhh.

Practiced all your Arnold Jacobs routines? Did you listen to your Roger Bobo CD's too?

Nice pictures and ride report, I enjoyed it?

Sweet! Must be nice to travel with a chase van, bringin' the chairs, cooler, dogs!! You Oregon folks have it made (I used to live in Roseburg)! I'm headed up that way early July for a 7-day loop - can't wait!

Rick, food is about 1/3 of the reason for a pic-nic

Marty, I have lots of tuba music on the i-pod, but buzzing inside the helmet yeilds some...interesting results

Bruce, Sherpa treking is what its all about!

Perhaps we can convince Ally to bring the Tuba Music along in August? And the chase van....and the chairs...and....just kidding.

Dee's got the chase van. I will bring the tuba music. And to spare you, I won't play, I'll record the pros!! That's Karyn on the snare drum behind me.
