Photobucket website just hacked

I got nothin on this website but a bunch of Alabama flags - those little white boxes with the red Xs. If you use Photobucket you're in the same boat. Hopefully its only temporary.

Go to photobucket.com and this is what you get:

seems to work just fine. Is it just your page that's affected? Or worse, YOU have been hacked.

But the pics are not on my computer, they're on the Photobucket site and not showing up here??!!

Seems to be several other posts on this site that are affected. Look at the Random unmoto photo thread. Orson's seem to be gone also.

Re: Photobucket website just hacked

I just checked a couple of links that friends had emailed me to slideshows on photobucket. Can't see those either. I am wondering if people with public access got hit and people with private access did not. I had recently made mine public so that friends and family could look at my grandson's photos. Anyway, I am hoping this heals itself as I have hundreds of photos there.

Re: Photobucket website just hacked

Turkey is a hotbed of hackers. A couple of years back quite a few sites were hit by Turkish hackers leaving behind a full screen graphic of Ataturk and a waving Turkish flag along with a multi-language profane rant against several other countries and certain indigenous peoples with whom Turks have some past history. Places you wouldn't expect have hacking as a minor industry including Bulgaria, Albania, Poland and other ex-soviet satellites.

The point is not that they accomplish anything, simply that they show off their hacking skillz. They do it because they can if for no other reason.

Re: Photobucket website just hacked

Looks like Photobucket is aware of the problem and working towards getting it fixed. The hacker page doesn't show up anymore, just the "HTTP 404 Not Found" page!
