With Gazza's permission I'm sharing this with you.

ps had the matchless up to 107mph once and only that was pretty good for a road bike then the bmw trike had it up to 140 kmh which is about 88mph thats quick enough for me. all the best
Thanks Gazza for sharing the info.

Greatings Oz!
Beautiful shots. In '66 I would have given anything for 40 inch beezer
or Triumph. So, how did you lose your legs. Was it 'Nam?, motorcycle accident?
Whatever it was, it's inspiring to see that it didn't stop you from riding. Truly
a lifelong passion.

Great pictures Gary, my first bike was an AJS/Matchless 500 single. This link on Pashnit should show a picture of it along with my brother Neal back in 1954. Keep on riding brother........Papa-Ken

thanks ken. matchless 500 single was also my very first bike. one thing for sure the compression was high and couple of times i got kicked over the handle bars so to speak trying to kick start it.i done the clutch once they were cork. i replace with new cork then soak in water let it dry then smoothed them off on concrete path replaced them and away i went. all the best ken
