2008 trip!!! UPDATED w/PICS 8/06/08

Well I leave this Weds 7/9.

This will be my 5th trip like this in the last 6 years! Have riden this bike in 42 of the upper 48. And I will get those other 6 this trip! I have a little over three weeks! Don't have to be back @ work until Aug 4th. So heading for Milwakue for the see the new HD museum to open next weekend. Then heading to the upper part of Michigan or to some of you the "U.P.". Then dip into a small part of Canada...never been there! Stop @ Nigara Falls. Hit those six states I need. New York, Maine, Mass, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire. Then onto Ocean Md. I have lived in Cali all of my life. And for as long as I can remeber...There is a road mileage sign in West Sacramento that states Ocean City, Md 3083 miles. Well after some internet searching I come to find out there is an almost Identical sign on the east coast. Picture time. I will try and check in from time to time...if I can get to a hotel!

Bike currently has 66600+ miles at this point in time! Should have over 70k when I return!

Hey...finally got a chance to download a few pics. I am currently in Rutland, VT. What a trip to this point! No rain yet, but I think that is going to change tomorrow!

Lets see Stopped @ JP cycles shop in Iowa & @ the M/C museum. Took a tour of Miller Park, toured the new HD museum and the powertrain plant in Milwaukee, MI. Oh that is about all I can rember with out going through all my notes and pics!

So here are a few pics that I like @ this point!

This is on ALT 93 heading into West Wendover, NV UTAH boarder....that is the great Salt beds in the back ground!


This is in Wyomning the road leading out and away from Mirror Lake in Medicine Bow Ntl Park.


And this is the Mackinaw bridge. Very cool how the bird decided to hang out for my pic!


I also turned 70K on my bike this morning. Tomorrow headed for the most north/east point of this trip. Bangor Maine.

to this point the mirror lake photo is my fav of the trip! But there is still more riding to be done! Found the lake by accident. I was looking @ a map and saw that I could get to Cheyenne, WY via the interestate or these back roads. Guess which one I choose? Also the wind was poundings us that day on the interstate. What a road!

well trip is almost over. I am in Weatherford, OK. The rest of the trip is going to be on the Interestate....as I need to get home and see my family. Before the normal "grind" of life gets back to normal!

But man....what a great trip to this point. The bike has turned 73K this morning! Stopping in Amarillo, TX for an oil change tomorrow. Should be home by Thursday or Friday. Then I need to sort through the pics I took and put all of the PANO shots together! Hope there are some good ones to be seen!

Sounds like a great trip Larry! Have to agree with everyone as to what an alluring pic that is of the curved road, the mountains, the snow.

Tim and everyone else who has looked! Thanks for looking and the replys. Got back yesterday (Thursday). Still sorting through the pics and putting together the pano pics etc. But here is a quick stat update. 22 days, 27 states, 8086 miles, two oil changes, a new rear tire! Also I have completed a personal goal for me and my current bike. I have ridden this bike in all of the upper 48 states! Since I bought this bike new 12/29/08. Oh yeah....my arm is still soar from waving @ all the other bikers!

Okay here is one pano pic I will post for now. This is one of the many (like over 500 pics) This was in Santa Rosa, NM. We were heading out of the hotel room.to dinner..and I saw this cloud formation....little did I know that a spectacular lighting show was to follow!
