Great weekend in NJ

My lovely wife had Saturday off for a change, so we figured we would get some miles in.

Here are the bikes on Sat. ready for a nice trip up to Martin Eurosports to drool over the Ducati's (Desmosedici & 1098R ) and the Aprillia RSV Factory.

On the way back we stopped in Springtown for lunch and my cell phone rang, it was my friends Steve, and Todd, they were at Van Sant Airport (more on that later) and they came and met us. This is Steve's 1098S Tri-color, it's an amazing bike (he has many others) and he was nice enough to let me ride it a few weeks ago......WOW!!!! Todd has the Aprillia Futura.
We rode a nice loop at a pretty brisk pace covering some great back roads in PA & NJ. Sorry no photos of roads, we don't usually stop and sight see, we are usually chasing each other looking for the next set of curves.

Sunday after a coffee stop we met my other friend Steve at the Brass Ring ( the local Sunday meet up spot) and we took the meandering way up to Van Sant Airport. Van Sant Airport is a lunch meet up spot in Erwinna PA. It's a grass runway County airstrip with Cessnas, Steermans, Gliders, ect. The photo above is a pretty good representation of a nice Sunday 30-100 bikes, sometimes more.

Another shot of the lineup.

Looking down from the top of the line, with a plane taking off.

A pristine CBX, you never know what you'll see, sometimes the local RD club shows up for a ride-out, and the sweet smell of two-strokes fills the air.

Nice CB-350 Four, sounded as good as it looked.
Sorry for the lack of road shots, like I said we rarely stop, but I assure you that we have some of the best roads in the Northeast, if any of you are coming this way, I'll be happy to give you a tour.

Nice photos! It's always fun to browse the different bikes.

Re: Great weekend in NJ

I've ridden some of the back roads of NJ and it really is a pretty state with some good scenic roads. A trip might be in order next year. I booked this year and short on vacation time left. But I might take you upon the offer some day.

I love gatherings like the one you picture, so many different bikes.

Re: Great weekend in NJ

Mark,
If you ever come up this way give me a shout before. It's true Central NJ (near Princeton) is a great area, North Jersey (West of the Turnpike and Parkway) are stellar also. And just across the river in PA are some great roads, we ride them every weekend we can.
Everyone thinks New Jersey looks like the opening credits from The Soprano's.
I've been down your way, I did a solo trip to Deal's Gap in 2005, you guy's have some fantastic roads down there. I may be heading down in September with some friends, if we do we'll try to meet up.

I rode around the Princeton area and it was great. Pretty countryside and great roads. Give me a shout when you come down, I'll take you on some roads only the locals know about. No tourists, no enforcement.

What a lineup! That's pure heaven to be able to walk up and down a line like that and gaze at all the bikes! Each and every one tells a story, and plus everyone else has a story to relate!
