A day on tour with Pashnit 07.01.05

When I heard that ride alongs with the Pashnit Tour group were OK, I made the plan to join up for the ride to Quincy last Friday. Meeting in Auburn about 9:30 am, the group of 5 bikes arrived on time, always a good sign...for me this ride was about the riders more than the sights so the pics are of the people...

from top to bottom - Tim (two), Haroldo and Megan, Jeff, Pashnit, the group arriving

We left Auburn and after another brief in Grass Valley, we jetted up 49 north before a left turn at this intersection where the faster riders waited the less fast riders...a few pics of the group, Alan from Morro Bay (the mad otter), Jeff, Pashnit and Alan waiting, Jeff and Tim, a log truck demonstrates Right-of-Way...

A few miles up this road we turned off on Oregon Hill for a ride over varied surface quality, poor to not bad, and I caught these pics at the next brief stop.

That's Tim R. showing his balanced riding style...and Haroldo and Megan arriving on the Kawasaki cruiser everyone thought was a Harley

I think it was on La Porte Rd. we encountered a 20 minute delay for construction...they are replacing numerous sections of road that was subsiding and making pot-holes the size of caverns...pics are of the various waiters around...their bikes...

the first group were on Harleys, no gear and sipping both soft-drinks and at least one can of suds...prolly tasted good about then but I stuck to water...

farther down are Jeff and Haroldo in conversation, Tim (pashnit), and the pretty redhead is Haroldo's lady Megan...

Re: A day on tour with Pashnit 07.01.05

The delay was fun, a chance to meet and greet the other riders out on this beautiful day. Our ride together ended in Quincy at Micasita mexican restaurant, a decent meal and more conversation. I snapped a tour group pic, then handed the cam to a nice lady who snapped one with me in the shot.

A great day ride for me with 200 miles to this point where I turned south and rode home around the West Shore of Tahoe, to 50 to my backdoor Icehouse/Wentworth Springs Rd. to Georgetown for 370 miles on the day.

For me this was about the riders more than the scenery. Everytime I hook up with another group of people brought together via pashnit.com or this forum, I realize what a neat and interesting bunch of people we are. We rock...

Thanks to Tim Mayhew for allowing me to accompany the ride for the day, and to each rider that was in the group, I hope you all had as much fun as I did. Thanks for the memories.
