Mark who's ridden with us before this time bought his brother David with him. My favorite thing is when they tell me how many years it's been since they've done something like this- just the two of them.

Quick story about this bike. This is John's who'd ridden on the last tour of the previous year. That time, John was on a rented BMW.

This time, he brought his own bike, from Connecticut!

John had been on the road for an entire month before he even got to the Pashnit Tour.

A quick stop at the Point Arena Lighthouse, which we found to be undergoing a restoration with a huge grant from the USCG. ($1.5 mil I think) They are removing the 6 ton lens from the top of the lighthouse and building a whole new museum & visitor center around it.

Familiar with the stretch of road from the ocean to Hwy 101? We've no fancy name for it. We just call it the '22 mile section' of Hwy 1.

As for the curves - 320 curves in 22 miles. We counted. No traffic. No towns. Just us, and that slice of velvet road.

And the best of all- the cars all politely pull over for you to allow the bikers to ride on by. (most of them anyway )
