The view of Kings Canyon National Park. See the road?

Bit of factoid trivia is Kings Canyon is the deepest canyon in North America. (and you thought it was the Grand Canyon), measured from the surrounding mountain tops, it's said to be 8200 feet deep carved out by glaciers in the last ice age. Nearby surrounding peaks are over 14,000 feet.

Riding on into Sequoia National Park to Morro Rock.

Picture it this way, standing at 6500 feet and being able to look straight down in almost a 360 degree circle?

Sound intriquing? It was for our Pashnites, especially the Canadians.

After a day of riding, sun is beginning to set over the Sierra Nevada




On Top of the World.

If you think about this photo, look how level we are with the surrounding mountain tops.

Now imagine being able to look straight down- note how narrow the bars are.

Check out Paul. Got that on camera. Seems he's a little afraid of heights.

"The psuedo-guard rail rock only comes up to my knee" he said.




Comon Paul, it's only like straight down.

And with that, we were off to the hotel and some cold ones where we were joined by our other tour group. Was running two tours at same time running in opposite directions. 20 of us for dinner.

Next day I took the group out on Yokohl Valley Rd - a ranch road into Springville. Awesome! Goaty but good!

Sean and Kim couldn't stop smiling. Perma-Grin. We give those out at the start of each tour.

Well, it was off to find this mysterious road with no name. Known only a Rd23S16. More pics are here in CA Moto Roads with maps & long-winded description on how to find it.



This is the Kern River Canyon we're looking down on.
