A trip to Arizona

Three of my friends and I rode to AZ last week (10-4, 5, 6-08). We left Friday morning to Mesa on I-10, and then took 87 to Payson to Fallbrook for 1st night. That was a beautiful day for riding.
The 2nd day we rode through petrified forest to I-40 to Gallup New Mexico. From Gallup took 491 to Four corners. We got caught to rain in Shiprock NM; from there we rode over 5 hours in the rain. And we were in traffic for one hour in the rain; there was a Navajo festival in Shiprock.
We rode to four corner took some pictures and keep riding in the rain. We rode through Colorado and Utah a little bit, to Monument valley to Flagstaff for 2nd night.
3rd day head home and did 1574 miles

Looks like you had a nice trip. Some of us will be heading out that way for a quick weekend ride next month but we are only going as far as Seligman.

Great Ride in good weather that route if you added a few more dayswould take you through Meas Verde, Durango, Silverton and loop back up through Teluride great canyon River Views as well as technicle road touring on into Grand Junction . adds a few days but CHARM CHARM CHARM Love to go again

Glad to see the pic of Monument Valley. It just lights the fire for me include it in a trip I am working on for early June '11. I'll leave Dallas and come up from the south to end up south of Durango to visit a friend in Ignacio.
