2008-10-25: Bouquet, Spunky, Pine Canyon, Lockwood, etc!
Too many canyons to list! (okay, not really)
Scrubbed in some new tires last weekend in Malibu and had a craving to get out in the middle of nowhere away from all the crazies. I seriously contemplated MatthewP's Big Bear ride, but couldn't justify the freeway miles on my expensive Ducati torture rack. Meeting time, 0900 hours at the bottom of Little T (matthewp must be rubbing off on us civvies). Mr. FastRicky showed up with a friend (racerxlilbro, I assume?). We took a quick jaunt over Little Tujunga and met up with Rumpus King and Prince for breakfast. Bellies full, we bid adieu to those of us with fatherly duties and the trio continued up Bouquet Canyon, over Spunky Canyon, and around and down Pine Canyon Road. There was a lot of fun with a limited number of pictures, but the panorama at the end of Pine was spectacular: ![]() What a gorgeous day: ![]() Our trusty steeds: ![]() Ma' Duc: ![]() Brad's Kawi ("nice '85!" ):![]() And last, but rarely so, Mr. FastRicky and his gorgeous RC: ![]() Our group lost another rider to "chores" or some other excuse at Frazier Park, and Rick and I continued on through Lockwood and down Highway 33. If I wasn't so busy having fun I might have stopped for a few more scenic shots, but you'll just have to trust me when I say that it was a perfect day out and the scenery was gorgeous.

We actually spoke up until the last hour about going (not really the last, just want you to feel better ) but that's too many freeway miles for me. Like Keith said, the day was amazing!!! I was riding the first of these roads for first time on a sportbike...and boy what a killer ride we had!!! So fun the pics were limited, but here's a couple. King Kenny and Aram. King Kenny shown in actual size. ![]() ![]() Some RC bling and Lake Watchacallit in the background... ![]() Although these days she feels kinda slow and heavy compared to the other scoots, my love affair with this bike continues. Nine years of tinkering, developing, and some cool stuff that fell off a truck in Europe , resulted in a bike that is truly a pleasure to ride...anywhere but on the freeway. More bling...![]() Gotta love a girl with big cans... ![]() As Keefer said, at Frazier 3 became 2. The sites were absolutely incredible through Lockwood and with little traffic, we were able to have a blast...within the local speed laws, of course. Popped down into Ojai...the town, not the murderer...and had a malt with some up and coming HA's and then home. What a day!!!

Hey - Now, being a NoCal rider that's only ridden the SoCal Canyons a time or two and for sure not all of them -- the next time you decide to take a ride -- Ummm STOP and show us'ns the scenery.
![]() Cheers!
