Sherman Pass- Open but Snowy. 190 /155 Nice

I rode Hwy 190 from Springville to the Western Divide Hwy yesterday (all open, all fine & clean- just beautiful), with the intention of then going over Sherman Pass to Ridgecrest...

All was fine on Sherman Pass Road (if a little sandy), but I started to hit quite a bit of the White Stuff at the 7800' level...

I turned around at this point, discresion being the better part of not being a complete dumbass and all...

Came back home via Kernville and Hwy 155, which is now clear of dirt.

Hey, I thought that German made motorcycle was the adventure model? Turning around ain't much of an adventure. I mean it snows in Germany right?

I figured I had about another 2000' of altitude to go to the summit, through lots of nicely-shaded forest roads...

You first, Sparky.

Nice report Bob, and thanks for showing a great route and high pass in the Southern Sierra. I remember last year going over Sherman with Phil and Don having to ease our bikes over a snowy iced section. They can sneak up on you, and that was late October!

I say, if ye can go to Badwater in August, ye can cross Sherman Pass in December.

Just need Brad along, that's all.

If I had the TKC-80 knobbies I'd feel better as well.
