Streetmasters 2009 Schedule - Willow Springs, CA
Hi All ~
Just thought I would let you know that the Streetmasters Motorcycle Workshops has just put out their 2009 Class Schedule, and put in a shameless plug for them. It is located at HorseThief Mile on the Willow Springs complex just outside of Rosamond,CA and they have arranged for discounted lodging in "nearby" Lancaster, CA. Walt Fulton III is one of the instructors, and a good friend of mine (not that it will get you a discount or anything ). He is one that is most responsible for getting me back in the saddle after a 20+ year hiatus and helping me overcome "the jitters" on that fateful day. While the price of the course may seem a little steep to some (I am reminded of the old Bell Helmet slogan about a $10 head), I plan on attending this course this year. I believe that it will be money very well spent. See you on the road........ ![]() http://www.streetmasters.info/

Re: Streetmasters 2009 Schedule - Willow Springs, CA
I took the course last year.
It is very much worth the money. I practice the techniques frequently, and use them on my mountain rides. It is a very long day. You will cover 100+ miles on the track, but you will feel great at the end. btw - I opted to spend the night after the class rather then ride home that night. Glad I did. Steve... |

+1
This is a great class. I took it a few years ago and have been building on it ever since. Do recommend staying overnight not only to rest, but to socialize and tell lies in the bar/restaurant after the day's events. All kinds of bikes--from maxi scooters to Aprilias--and everything else in between--cruisers, BMWs, etc.

+1 as well. I have taken it twice and would highly recommend it again. I really learned alot and have been able to apply everything to my riding.
It's well worth the money. |

Ah yes Streetmasters. I remember it well from last year. Do you have any idea what it takes to break 40 years of habits... Not necessarily bad habits, just what has ben ingrained for years & years.
Excellent course. It will absoluetly change the way you ride twisties, especially if it is the 1st time you are on a road. In fact, here is what a day at Streetmasters looks like from a GPS Track perspective.

Verrrrry cool--look how you changed your lines! This could be a very helpful instructional aid. See how you change over time or see what you're trying to execute. Nifty!
BTW--you go around the track in both directions.

I'm local ( Palmdale ) and am planning on taking the course this year.
Never took the dive last year. If anybody takes the course and stays a night we can get together and BS about whatever! ![]() If anybody wants to take advantage of the 20% discount for groups of 4 or more, I'm interested! ![]() Feel free to PM if you want to set up a Pashnit day for us to go. BTW, I will be out of town for the March classes. I get to go to Paso Robles... ![]() Gordon |

Re: Streetmasters 2009 Schedule - Willow Springs, CA
It was very interesting looking at the GPS Track after I got home. It was a challenge changing to a "Late Apex" for the corners after so many years. The GPS track shows the progression nicely. It took months of riding afterwards to really get the Late Apex down smooth. It is a perfect way to ride unfamiliar twisties.
Yes, we ran the track both directions.

Gordon, Mike who is one of the instructors there also has a TC. When I broke my belt there last year he was a godsend. (Missed a gear and snapped it~ My Bad)
Bill, Was that a tracking you did or one from them? Pretty cool. It's really obvious how much the lines changed! |

Hey Syd
That was from my GPS, that day. I didn't even think about it until after I was home. Then I got thinking, the GPS was on all day, I wonder what the track looks like from riding the track all day. And there it is.
