Wink3 2nd Pashnit Girly Ride July 24-26

Pashnit Girly Ride--July 24- 26
This years route will be as posted below, unless some force of nature takes us on another adventure, much like last years fires!

Last years ride brought lots of laughter and smiles and a few tears. I am hoping this year will be much the same, sans the tears!

Girly Ride Tees can now be purchased!!! You can add text, adjust logo, and choose many different shirt styles!

This year's route will include central Cal as well as riding farther south into a bit of southern Cal. Each day tallies about 200-250 miles but these are NOT easy miles thus longer times involved riding them. They are as follows:

CenCal and SoCal Route
Day one Note the start point at Starbucks Here is the bucky's info and meet time is 7:30 to 8am with kickstands up at 8:30, so if you want to chat and drink coffee arrive EARLY!
Hwy 198 & Demaree, Visalia
3401 W. Noble Avenue A
Visalia, California 93277
559-635-2871
Day two
Day two variation Looks like this will be the chosen one!
Day three
Approximately 600 miles total starting in Visalia, CA (we can discuss on where to meet in Visalia) ending in Jamestown (where we can also decide to have lunch together before parting ways) where we will make our way to our homes. The final day mileage is 100 to allow us to head home or to a suitable place to overnight before heading home the following day. Keep in mind Jamestown is near Yosemite.

Keep in mind we are riding right past the historic Benton Hot Springs and could arrange a stop there for a dip in the hot springs and maybe lunch? As of now, there have been some interest in stopping here for a dip. I would imagine the air temp will contribute to peoples desire to swimming in a hot pool. I am game...Princess is game....are there others??

Sunday Lunch on our return home... We'll be stopping at Big Daddy's Smokin' BBQ (209) 586-2558 in Twain Harte for lunch on our return. Carrie Taylor, the owner, sez she has a banquet room we can use for our group. They have a full BBQ menu and a full bar (like that is gonna matter to any of us riding...) but she is excited to cater to a female riding group. She gets lots of riders but she said she has NEVER had an entire group of women!! WOOHOO! So, reservations are for 12:30 to 1:30. I will call if the times change by virtue of our photo ops over Sonora Pass.

From lunch we can all just go our own ways to head home. Nothing organized will continue unless small groups of you decide otherwise. Hopefully, this place will offer a befitting end to a fantastic weekend ride!!

Highlights:
Parker Pass
Sherman Pass
Westgard Pass
Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest
Sonora Pass

Rooms
Each of you must make your own reservations that way if they need to be canceled you can do so. The motels both have single and double rooms, so that we can again share rooms if desired but please work out the details via pm or email.

For those arriving on Thursday night in Visalia:
Reservations can be made for the night at the Lamplighter Inn. We will get together for dinner and drinks at place of choice....i will add this later, as I currently can't remember what we decided. ; )

July 24
Bristlecone Manor Motel
Hwy 395
Big Pine, CA 93514
760-938-2067
CALL JAMI OR DENNIS TO MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS! BE SURE TO MENTION PASHNIT GIRLY RIDE

July 25
West Walker Motel
106833 Hwy 395
Walker, CA 96107
530.495.2263
CALL PAM OR CHRIS AFTER MARCH 10 AND MAKE YOUR ROOM RESERVATION! LET THEM KNOW YOU ARE PASHNIT!

This is a ride your own ride with plenty of photo opportunities! When riding any ride, please peruse the maps carefully so that you will feel secure when riding any of the purposed roads! A good portion of what we have planned is NOT a beginner's ride. There are many hairpins, debris, narrow roads without guardrails and questionable surfaces over Sherman pass, Westgard and Sonora Pass. If by July you are comfortable with these sorts of roads and have ridden some group rides, you will most certainly be welcomed.

Right now we have two groups....
group one will be the more brisk riders but still plenty of photo ops.
Kharon will lead group one
Marion will sweep group one.
Ally will lead group two with a bit more of a laid back pace
Roxanne will sweep group two.
Maps will be provided for everyone so all will know the exact route and stops. If anyone is compelled to run an even quicker pace, have at it, but let someone in your group know what you are up to. Remember this is a RIDE YOUR OWN RIDE, so you are responsible for yourself.

We will also be doing picnic lunches on both days which means show up in Visalia (place yet to be announced) with a full gas tank, and a packed lunch and water or liquids. I am hoping we can meet at 8am in Visalia and have kickstands up at 8:30, so if we are meeting at Starbucks...get there early to embrace that necessary cup of joe.

We can make another lunch or buy sandwiches or whatever when in Big Pine for another picnic lunch on our way to Walker on Day 2's schedule. I am researching good places to stop both days and will provide them as soon as I find something interesting. Don't forget a camelbalk or some sort of fluids for both days will probably be warm.

This is gonna be FUN!!!

The energy and spirit of this wonderful ride will pass to our friend Tyler as she traverses her healing journey. Tyler, this ride is dedicated to you!

Tyler told a co-theater worker this,
"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than success, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, gift, or skill. It will make or break a company...a church...a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past. The only thing we can do is play on the string we have, and that is our attitude.

I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you...we are in charge of our attitudes."

This is an amazing woman! Heal up m'friend...we all LOVE you!

Re: 2009 Pashnit Girly Ride

Nice new smilie Tim!

Gonna get my oar into this stream. I'll weigh in for the Norcal route (but of course will do either--route is not a deal-breaker for me).

July 31, Aug 1, Aug 2 are out for me.

Good thing you started early Donna.

Re: 2009 Pashnit Girly Ride

I'm new, and haven't met anyone yet, but figured I might as well throw it out there... I'd definitely be good with the So-cal route, as its in my back yard! That's an incredible ride, btw, I've done parts of it at various times... the ride back, around the back side of the Yosemite, is BEAU-TI-FUL!!

The Nor-cal route is a bigger 'maybe', I'd have to see what weekend was selected and what my work calendar looked like.

More girl riding buddies!

That sounds fun, I am up for the socal ride. I never get to ride with women so, this is a great chance to hang out with my own kind

Re: 2009 Pashnit Girly Ride

Thats a good ride, but I would try to work this one in too "South Fork Mountain Rd - Titlow Hill" just because I don't know how often all the riders get up there. Its such a nice ride with outstanding views, I try to take it every time I get up that way. You could make an sidetrip on your way south down the coast. But any way you go, you will have one fun and scenic ride(can I come if I wear a wig).

ROD(dina)
p.s. adds about 130 miles

Thanks for the tip Rodina, however it is a bit out of the way of the other connecting roads! But wait, that gives us another reason to return to the area! I must say, I have not ridden this but will be seeking it in my future after perusing it on pashnit.com roads Looks fantastic!

So many roads, so little time!

Btw, u are simply another wig wearing wannabe ( just sharing the love)...the only men allowed on a pashnit girly ride are those desiring to be cabana boys at our ride destinations and then ONLY at the destination!! You can file an application with Viffergyrl.

Re: 2009 Pashnit Girly Ride

A hearty vote for the nor-cal route, although with enough planning, we could probably make the so-cal route. Early July is the only time I'm unavailable.

Ally, who cain't hardly wait!
