Trip to Borrego Springs
Since May I am a member of this site but never published something. I think it is time….
A Trip to Borrego Springs It happened already three weeks ago: Do you have some time this weekend for a ride, I was asked? Of course I did have. Let’s meet at 9.30 AM on Saturday for a coffee and then hit the road. Well, Starbucks in Corona del Mar was crowded, too many customers and not enough employees. It was late when we finally hit the road. We rode the PCH south and continued the Freeway 5 until we arrived in Oceanside. We turned to the left, rode Highway 76, later called Pala Rd and turned to the left into S.Grade Rd to ride to Palomar Mountain to have launch at “ Mother’s”. The air was clear and the view was incredible. The food was good and this time there were only a view bikes. I guess the racing time is not on yet. Normally a lot of sport bikes are riding this road to find out who is better: the skills of the rider or the laws of physics, means mother nature…. After lunch we continued to ride the E Grade Rd back to Highway 76. Half way is a view point and we recommend to stop there and enjoy the view. |

Re: Trip to Borrego Springs
I did this trip before and was keen to go to the next step, to ride to Borrego Springs. We continued Highway 76 turned left into Highway 79 until San Felipe Rd to the right. I was told by my coworkers the Montezuma Valley Road to Borrego Spring would be a very interesting road. Well, I think the road is amazing…..
The weather conditions were great and we could see the Salton Sea. We would have loved to go there but it was already too late. It was a nice trip but next time we will start earlier or skip the coffee. I really would like to see Salton Sea….. Well, this is my first report and I hope my English is not too bad. I prepared a Google map but I am afraid I still have to learn how to publish this. I enjoy my membership of this site and I am pleased the server problems are solved. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...52,1.9487&z=10 As you can see I solved the Google map challenge.... |

Re: Trip to Borrego Springs
Great write-up & pics! Next time you go, be sure to try HWY 78 to Yaqui Pass to Borrego Rd to Christmas Circle. Then take "Monty" back uphill to Ranchita. Be sure to stop in @ Carlee's Place (in Borrego Springs) and tell Sharon that "NORTY" sent ya.

Re: Trip to Borrego Springs
Enjoyed the report and some nice looking motorcycles besides the scenery. Just a note of information to help out in the language dept. You use the word side but I'm sure you meant to write site, hope you don't mind the correction. Looking forward to more messages. Keep in touch.

Very nice report!
I've been down that way a couple of times and lov doing it every time. I Think you did just fine with posting the link to the Google Maps route, that's great info to give out. Thanks.
