Day ride at Miami Creek, Oakhurst, CA

Took three trucks filled with kids and dads up to Miami Creek OHV riding area. I heard it was closed but we found that it was still open. This place could be one of the best single track riding areas in the Central Valley if it were maintained with appropriate green sticker money. There are over 1,000 trails and all of them have problems according to one of the local riders I talked to.

I found a sign that said, "trail closed for maintenance" and the local rider mentioned that sign was put up over two years ago.

This place is not for beginners and our group ranging from 12 years old to 50 had to go around fallen logs, ride through ruts so deep you could walk away from your bike and not need to use the side stand!

The scenery and higher elevation puts you riding in the pines......wonderful.

I have emailed Nick Harris of AMA about this problematic area worth saving.

As Congress continues to erode riding areas, Miami Creek needs to be fought for and restored. Anybody out there have some ideas?

The last pic is the trail that links Jerseydale with Miami Trail system one of my fav's thanks for the pic's..
