So I met up with Mark out in the Mojave Desert this afternoon after my departure being delayed by my boss this morning. He thought it was hot! Wait until we reach Palm Springs tomorrow afternoon! We worked our way through Palmdale and into the mountains. Up Elizabeth Cyn Rd, out Lake Hughes road then some super slab to the 5/210 split where we went our seperate ways.

Seems Mark was a little tired. He spent last night sleeping on top of a picnic table at Cedar Grove, where the road ends in Kings Canyon. He was to beat to even set up a tent. So today was probably a low mile day for him. I arrived home at 6:30 this evening, about the same time Mark should reach his Hotel room at the base of the Crest.

Tomorrows journey looks to be about 400 miles for Mark and 500 for me. Here is the rough plan.

6:30 AM at Jays Shell. Base of the Crest>
Crest to Nukes>BigT>Angeles Forest> Mt Emma> to Wrightwood>Crestline>Arrowhead>Big Bear>38>Palm Springs>74>Hemet>Elsinore>San Juan Capistrano, where Mark will crap out and I'll Super Slab it back to Simi Valley.

OK, so Mark takes more pictures than anyone I've ever met. But he is very entertaining. So I'm not even going to post my crappy pictures. You'll have to wait until September for Marks. He said he has taken a couple thousand so far!

I just bought a new dedicated server. I'm sure it will. This place is growing so fast, it's amazing.

Plus we knew Mark was coming down the pike with all his pics. Gonna take him a month to post 'em all.

Today August 10th, Mark and I met at 6:30 am, at the base of Angeles Crest for a little riding. What a treat the entire day and no LEO's, but then I was behaving all day too. Well, except once when Mark left a photo stop ahead of me and I needed to catch up.

We had a perfect day. Light traffic and good weather. We thought we were headed into a thunderstorm at one point in the afternoon, but it moved on and so did we.

Here is Mark in his usual position, passed out in a parking lot.....I mean shooting pictures.

on a side note: It would be funny if someone walked by while Mark was laying on the ground and dropped him a dollar or two.

Say Erik,

Mark will probably call close to last minute. He's keeping a pretty busy schedule on this years ride. But he is lovin it. I kept him up in the mountains and out of cell range all day. He should be staying in Dana Point tonight and making a pre dawn departure to avoid the LA morning rush hour.

Thanks Gary and Dale!I just got off the phone with Mark, he sounds pretty wiped out.He apparently lost his envelope that had his contact sheet and various permits at a stop outside palm springs. He has it under control though,going to have a copy e-mailed to him.
