Happy Turn My first 1000 miles !!!

WooooHooooo!! I did it! I put 1000 miles on my bike in about a month! No Iron butt patch for me..... lol. But I feel like I did good!

It's a step for me..... I've been working on my form, sight lines and most importantly safety issues. I now feel confident to ride anywhere by myself. I love mountain twistie roads and the freeways are no prob. Has it only been a month since my MSF course????? YEP!

Not to worry tho about overconfidence... I still am a safety nut!

Yay.... a MC milestone for me!

I get happy at the littlest of things... hee hee

Hugs!

Re: My first 1000 miles !!!

Congrates Mary, You're well on your way! I just hit 59,000+ on a ride last Saturday. I can almost taste 60,000 and am sure to hit it before the end of the season.

I saw your Mom again this weekend. She was thoughtful enough to walk over to me and my father in-law while we were gassing up to warn us about the horrible roads on 41. I had already planned a route around the mess.

I was funny to see my father in-law on a sportbike. He usually rides a Honda VTX1800, but decided to take me up on my offer to try out the TT. I took him on some pretty windy roads, Road 426, Auberry, Powerhouse, Lodge, Tollhouse, Millerton, Nichols, 200, 211, etc. We stopped for a nice lunch at Humphrey Station. I really baptized him with so many windy roads, but up here there is not much else.

Hey Mary,

Don't imagine that this qualifies as 'littlest of things'. NHTSA figures give 2500 miles per year as the average for a motorcyclist. You are well on your way to above average, but I'm sure you knew that.

Keep it safe, many, many happy miles.

Congrats Mary!
But I have to ask, after the posts in the October get together thread!
How do you deal with the bugs when riding? Or is OK as long as they go splat!

Re: My first 1000 miles !!!

Congrats Mary, I knew you were cut out for biking. I remember you as a little one on a dirt bike. You never let your brother get the best of you. I will be seeing your Great Uncle Frank next week in Provo, Utah. He has been riding since he was just a young man and is now 94 and still rides a lot. His 93 year old wife on the back of his goldwing and across the states they go. I mention it because looks like it runs in the family and I might still have 30 years to ride and look at how many you have and how many miles you will rack up. I will give a full report and pictures on Uncle Frank when I get back from my trip. It is a lot of fun riding with you and I am looking forward to our trip in October to be with this group for a few days.

I guess most people just ride for fun on the weekends? I hit 3500 this last week.

Feels good huh? Nothing better. When I have a bad day I just hop on my bike take a spin and it just gets better. You will be surprised on how fast those miles add up. Hope it gets cooler soon so you dont get Monkey Butt
