Re: Home made lift table

I found this a while back, looks pretty cool and you can take it apart and store it against the wall.

Re: Home made lift table

Thanks to the OP and thanks to Eaton for the link. My garage floor is carpeted (old carpet from the house) so it's not too bad in the winter, but as I get more experienced (not to be confused with getting older, of course ) I sure like the idea of having whatever bike I'm working on being raised up on a platform like that... but I'm too cheap to buy the "real deal". However, I could easily see myself building something like this plywood version!

Re: Home made lift table

Have any of the posters here built/tried it yet? I am wondering if there is any tendency to slide forward on the garage floor when you are initially rolling the bike up the loading ramp.

Its seems like a simple and sweet setup for those of us that have limited garage space and cant fit a traditional motorcycle lift. Just assemble it in Im guessing about 3 minutes and take apart when done and store flat against wall or in rafters.

Re: Home made lift table

I made my lift table out of an electric bed that I got from a disabled friend who got a new one offered from her insurance company.
All I needed were a few boards to cover it and I had a 500 lbs electric table.

It also fits very well in my 20 ft. shed.

I'd think, like when loading bikes on a pick-up, it would be wise to strap the ramps to the table to prevent any movement. This is particularly important if you're loading the bike under power.

Don't ask how I know.

Ok. I'll fess up.
