gopro questions
Opened the new HD version as our xmas present to each other. Having some small problems maybe someone else has experienced and can assiste with (not that the instructions with come with aren't GREAT...snigger...snigger).
My default settings show that startup is "F" (filming mode), but I notice that the unit starts in self timer mode when I turn it on. I cant see any way to change this from happening as the default mode is already set to video. This happened to anyone else? Tks |

Re: gopro questions
I suspect that in learning about the settings and seeing how it works, the default settings got changed. Find the booklet that has Settings Menu in big letters and follow that to change the start-up mode. I just got mine for Christmas as well and will be taking it out for a test run today.

Re: gopro questions
Thanks. My default is "F" though (checked this a dozen times...) which should have it start in video mode. I removed the battery and started over, problem still not fixed.

Re: gopro questions
Try setting it for something else as the default - say Triple Shot. Power off and power back on. See if the change took hold. If it did, then go back to "F" and see if you get it without the Timer. If the Timer shows up all the time, then my guess at this point with limited experience with the unit would be a faulty unit. Mine comes up in "F" mode without the Timer, so I'm not a lot of help on this one.

Re: gopro questions
Bill,
What's happening is that when you turn the unit on, you are pushing the Power/Mode button too long which not only turns the camera on but moves it to the next mode which is Timer. Try hitting the Power/Mode button with a quick, firm push...in other words, don't press and hold and you'll find all is well again.

Re: gopro questions
Problem solved....nothing like a simple fix for a "doh" moment.
Thanks |
