short ride to the hidden city of Marin

Last week I had Wednesday of work, the weather was great, a blue sky and predicted 70 degrees. A great day for a ride. I have never been to the ‘ hidden city ‘ of Marin, so I decided to visit Bolinas, a couple miles south of Point Reyes on Hwy. 1. My route took me through San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge, a little detour through the Marin Headlands, Hwy. 1 through Stinson Beach, along the coast to Bolinas, Than back via Bolinas Fairfax Road, Ridgecrest Blvd., Mt. Tamalpais and through San Francisco to Belmont. A very nice ride, ca. 120 miles, took a lot of breaks, time ca. 4 hours.

Coast and Point Bonito Lighthouse. The lighthouse was first built at a higher evaluation, but had to be moved to almost sea level because of the fog, that sits usually 100 feet above the water.

Bolinas, the hidden City. There are no signs to the city on Hwy. 1. Every time, Caltrans puts them up, people take them down again. Guess, they don’t like tourists
