Getting a lot of questions about the new AdaptivMount:
The AdaptivMount is double jointed and rubber isolated so really pleased compared to the 3-4 different brand options you've got to choose from. Every gadget you buy nowadays is going the direction of USB powered. Power for your Phone, Camera charging, GoPro HD charging, etc.... 3BR Powersports is brand new company based in Bay Area , Click the link to see their rapidly expanding product line. 3BR Powersports is here: 3BR Powersports | USB Power Ports | Power Sport Vehicles - Motorcycle, Adventure Bike, Cruiser, ATV, Snowmobile | Pashnit Moto 3BR Powersports Right Angle 9" Power wire http://www.pashnit.com/product/3br/3...ables.html#top AdaptivMount is here: http://www.pashnit.com/product/adapt...html#sportbike Originally, I thought I would need a smartphone cradle, but just used vecro on back of my phone. Granted I now have fuzzy velcro on there all the time, but if you ride every day, it's perfect. Any sort of case you have will work - simply attach it to the universal mount. Attach the phone, plug in & go. Music, maps, internet, phone while you ride. So freakin' cool. You'll need a 1-1/4 socket to get the steering head nut off. If you don't have one, local hardware store will. Take off the steering head nut (put it in safe place), and on goes the Adaptiv nut. Then attach the mount. Note what's unique about these is the universal mounting plate is rubber-isolated. It also can be easily adjusted while out riding to get the mount in exact position or angle that works for you. The key to it all is this lil 3BR wire. A Mini-USB 90 degree-right-angle-up wire in a 9" length. The shorter the better to give a very clean install. The cap is waterproof. The USB wire loom is here: 3BR Powersports | USB Power Ports | Power Sport Vehicles - Motorcycle, Adventure Bike, Cruiser, ATV, Snowmobile | Pashnit Moto Fused and attaches direct to the battery. The USB plug has a waterproof cap for when not in use. Directions recommend you use the stock wire routing and that worked great. Up the left frame rail with some zip ties and around the front of the tank. Looks factory. ![]() |

Re: Mount your Droid or iPhone on your motorcycle
The TAPP Cap is a univeral mounting for either bars or a flat surface. I ended up zip tying it next to the reservoir.
Then checking and double checking clearances so the fork could go lock to lock & all wires secure. All done! ![]() Music, Maps, GPS, Altimeter, Speedometer, Facebook. I now have email on the bike. ![]() There's even an ap you can download that will tell you were all the speedtraps are, red light cameras, speedcameras, list is endless. |

Re: Mount your Droid or iPhone on your motorcycle
Tim,
Thanks for the thread. I have the Samsung Epic (Galaxy S/Sprint) Android phone that has a slider keyboard. I think that would require me to use the cradle as I wouldn't want to tax the sliding mechanism. I heard the comment on too many gadgets, but my Android phone is my gadget eliminator as it is phone, music, and GPS. I regularly use this in my 4 wheeled Honda and need to get it on my VFR800. Do you pair your phone with a bluetooth helmet set up? Thanks again. |

I just got the wire loom thingy to charge my iPhone on the bike - this new mount looks like the next accessory! Thanks for the photo instructions, Tim.

What's the trick for using the touch screen (on your phone) with gloves?

Re: Mount your Droid or iPhone on your motorcycle
There is none that I know of....you can't as far as I know. Someone correct me if i am wrong. But my touch screen does not work with gloves. I have buttons on my GPS so no prob and know some GPS is made for gloves, but not the smart phones, as far as i know or ipods.

Re: Mount your Droid or iPhone on your motorcycle
OK- that cuts down the cool factor by about 50%. I'm new to my iphone, figuring out ways to make use of it on the bike...thanks

Re: Mount your Droid or iPhone on your motorcycle
My understanding is that iPhones do not work with gloves, but other items may. My Nuvi works with gloves fine and so does my Android. Apple uses a different way to make touch screens work than most other companies to the point of people that want to use them with gloves get specially made gloves or "tips".
