Nice write up on your blog Alan. Have ridden those areas many times. That cactus you were talking about is a cholla cactus and is one that is better avoided!

Hey Surfdog, thanks for the info. That was my second trip out there. I have a Kawasaki KLR 650 now (in addition to the Strat in the pictures) and I hope to try it out on some of the unpaved roads out there soon...
