Crying Re: Sopiago Springs scouting trip - lotsa photos

John,

You guys are all going to make me so jealous that I can't make this event. I'm sure I'll be reading and hearing about it for months.

Oh well, its not like my 8 day tour of Southern Utah in a rented VW camper is going to suck.

What can I say. I'm selfish. I want to do it all!!!!

Re: Sopiago Springs scouting trip - lotsa photos

John.

Outstanding post! I was going back through the long thread looking for directions/landmarks off of Hwy 88, and then to TOT's campground. I think you nailed it for me, thanks

http://www.pashnitforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3045

I'm going to try to be up there sometime Thursday afternoon. Possibly Friday if delayed getting my supplies/gear packed up this week. New tires, fresh oil, I'm ready

In order to try to make finding Sopiago Springs a little easier I will add the following mapsource maps.

The directions on these maps are from Jackson on Hwy 49 straight up Hwy 88 to Omo Ranch Rd.
Yes there are other ways to get there.
I chose this route as the simplest and most direct.

First map shows big picture from Hwy 49 that you take Hwy 88 East past Pioneer to Omo Ranch Rd turnoff.

Map # 1 shows Hwy 88 to Omo Ranch Rd turnoff.
note: If you get to the small restaurant/gas stop called Cooks Station you have missed the Omo Ranch Rd turnoff. (Cooks Station not shown on these maps)

Map # 3 shows from Hwy 88 turnoff onto Omo Ranch and then the turn onto North South Rd.
The entrance road to sopiago was/is not shown on this map so I have put up waypoints to show about where they are.
Reference the pictures on page one of this post to get a better visual.

Re: Sopiago Springs scouting trip - lotsa photos

Thanks, John for the excellent directions and pictures. I was wondering how I was going to find it. Now I don't wonder any more. (I still wander, though!)

Doug and I will be heading up from Sacramento aroung 10:00 am on Saturday. Don't know what route yet. I'm thinking about riding Omo Ranch Road from the west to get there. Anyone interested in joining in?
