Anybody game?

I'm sure many of us will be hungry by the time we get to Burney. I've got about an 8 hr ride and should be there close to 6 (give or take an hour).
Is the pizza parlor within walking distance? I like to stay off the bike after a long days ride if possible (plus beers could accompany the pizza).

Bonny; I read this on girly ride thread.

Is this going to be an issue for us as we head over to the west of I-5? Are they working on the weekend there?
Thanks, KEN

Doesn't look like it will be an issue. The Cal Trans highway info page says "maintenance" through 06/22. I'd figured that they had started that road construction in earnest. Guess not.

Re: Oregonian & Californian Pashnits Ride 2012

Hey just to make sure I got the date correct, ya'll are gonna be in Burney 29, 30, 31 Jun right? I gotta work the 30th, long story. But I'm off the 29th and I'm planning on riding up to Burney @ 6PM. My boss used to live in Burney and he says Gepetto's Pizza is the only pizza place in town and they are ok. They use to be a Roundtable, but surrendered the franchise and changed themselves to the new name and fare overnight.

Anybody that plans on being in Burney Fri night the 29th, let me know and I'll meet you at the pizza joint.

Re: Oregonian & Californian Pashnits Ride 2012

June 29th 2012 is getting closer. I've got a new rear tire and I'm ready to ride.

This weekend my wife and I are headed to the Oregon Coast for a relaxing wedding anniversary ride, with an over night stay somewhere nice.

Re: Oregonian & Californian Pashnits Ride 2012

I have a schedule conflict looming...

My sister in law is moving to Germany on August 1, and this weekend has been set as the "get the farm ready to rent" weekend. I will be needed, with my pick-up. I am still negotiating, but it is not looking good so far...

That's disapointing. Terrie and I were looking forward to meeting you (amongst the others that we haven't met yet).

She's not a poster but she does spend time on this and other forums that I belong to just lurking. And......she's a hell of a rider.

Anyway, we're sorry that you're not going to be able to make it however, we understand priorities and at times they can sneak in at the last minute.

As a matter of fact, we're watching the weather forecast real close.....she gets heat sick pretty easily and the fact that we have to ride up I-5 Friday afternoon just to get there. We're hoping for a surprising cool spell next weekend.

Re: Oregonian & Californian Pashnits Ride 2012

Forecast high temp for Burney on Friday is a comfortable 80.

I'm still planning on being at Geppetos Pizza @6PM. Hope to see a few of you there!

This weekend was surprisingly cool (70s down here in Redding), and it looks to stay reasonably cool through next weekend. High 80s in the valley, mid-70s to mid-80s in the mountains. Perfect riding temps.

Ally - tell them to rent a truck! (ok, maybe you can't tell your sister that ).
