Re: Getting ready for the great adventure
Thank you everyone for your kind words.. The planning is pretty much done, the waiting is killing me. I can only imagine what that first day on the road, looking forward, will feel like.
My spare days now are filled with looking at individual destinations and what they might offer Thank you all Tim |

Re: Getting ready for the great adventure
Have a great trip.
Here is a quote from you web site. "This is going to be an EPIC journey and I want to take advantage of the time I have to get everything ready so this will be a adventure of a life time... " Here is my Coast to Coast Trip of a Lifetime link. I found Gettysburg by accident. I could have spent days there, but only putted through the area. I hope you enjoy your time there and share it with us. What is in your trailer? |

Re: Getting ready for the great adventure
My wife and I visited her parents a couple years ago. We flew into Philly and rented a car.. Spent a day at Valley Forge and 3 days at Gettysburg. Even 3 days wasn't enough. My love for Civil and Revolutionary History is going to take me to some amazing places.
In fact I was just reading about the they are opening up the "CSS HUNLEY" in Charlotte now that its been restored. There is a practice among Civil War Reenators called a "wargasm". This is a practice where you go out onto a battle field at night, with a book having a discription of the battle. You sit in the middle of this battleground and read it by candlelight. I have heard that is a very moving event. I'll be hitting as many battlefields as my route will allow (Fredericksburg, Antitiam, Harpers Ferry, Bull Run, Gettysburg, Charlston etc) and hope to share some of those experiences along with the Bike Trip. I could leave today, cept, I don't really want to be on the east coast in the DEAD OF WINTER... Quote:

Re: Getting ready for the great adventure
Tim, It appears you will be doing the four corners of the US. I did the ride a few years back. I stuck to the 21 days the Southern Calif. moto club gives you to do the ride but now want to do it again the way you have planned your ride. Have a great time and enjoy the beautiful scenery we have here in the US.
