Re: Getting ready for the great adventure
Ok, forget every one else being happy for you... I seriously dislike you, and it's all jealousy!!!!
![]() Seriously though, many congratulations on the retirement! It's great to see you taking full advantage of the fruits of your labor! I'm going to follow your blog with baited breath! Please take plenty of pictures.

Re: Getting ready for the great adventure
Gee,Hmmmm, I hadn't really thought about that... My webpage title is "From Behind My Eyes - The Adventure of Tim Stubbe"
How about "From Behind My Eyes - A U.S. Tour" that being said.. It could be called anything I'm open for suggestions.

Are you going to do your report live or after you are done? Have you been practicing taking pics while rolling down the road with your left hand? |

Re: Getting ready for the great adventure
Tim, I am just about as excited as if I were planning the trip for myself. It sure has given me the bug. I have a couple of trips planned this year but not of the adventurous nature as yours is. I have some adventures on my short list just not for this year. I just may have to move one forward. I did buy an auxilary fuel cell.
Your retirement motivates me. I am thinking of moving my retirement up to the end of April or sooner. It may have already been suggested or you may have already planned it. Since you will be covering a lot of territory you may want to do the IBA Master Traveler National Parks Tour, 25 states, 50 parks in one year. Go to the IBA site for the rules. On this sort of trip you can probably do it by accident.

Re: Getting ready for the great adventure
I could have worked longer, the job was pretty easy and the pay was good and I worked from home. That being said I started thinking about "roads not traveled", I didn't want to be a "I wish I would have done that when I could" having to live that regret the rest of my life. I want to smile and say "yeah, I did that in 2012". I've been planning for retirement for quite a while, but decided to pull the trigger when I started to dream about this trip. Once I was dedicated to doing the trip, things seemed to fall right into place. Kinda scary not having any impediments fall across my path (not that I'm complaining). I know when I get out on the road I will be an EXCEPTIONAL experience
