Well my friend in Ennis is going to be unavailable.. but amid disappointment there you will find opportunity.... Apr 19th I'll camp at Palo Duro Canyon State Park, apparently the Grand Canyon of Texas.. then east to Memphis where (here's the oppertunity) I'll visit GRACELAND!!!!! then South to hook up with my friend in Vicksburg..

Yes all is OK. Thanks for asking.
My wife's work in almost downtown Big D had to take cover twice. Where I sorta work(north Dallas) for a few days more we took cover for over an hour. I live 20 miles north of Dallas and we only had rain, not much wind or hail. Some weren't so lucky.

Pala Duro is good. It should be a good time of year. When I was there I saw a lot of Wild Turkeys, ones with feathers not the kind in the bottle, and deer. I want to go back. I haven't been to Cap Rock Canyon (near Turkey, Texas) yet but I have been told it is better. There is a bison heard at Cap Rock.

Re: Getting ready for the great adventure

I was watching those 8 ton trailers flying through the air and it occurred to me that my 900 pound bike and 210 pound trailer + my fat butt might get to OZ pretty quickly.

Glad your ok..

Re: Getting ready for the great adventure

Those storms and lightning are pretty scary when traveling on a motorcycle. I've had to close of a call with each.

Re: Getting ready for the great adventure

Hey Tim,
I know what it's like. I bought my latest bike 109 days ago. But it's in Seattle and I'm in NY! 4.7 more days until we fly out to start our CC trip. Not as long as yours, but still fun at about a month.
Be safe,
Harvey

Re: Getting ready for the great adventure

Tim, I don't know if you plan to get off I-40 to Memphis but a drop down to ride throught the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge might be a good break from the slab. It is outside Lawton/Ft. Sill where I lived for years. In Eastern Oklahom is a good road to ride, the Talimena Drive near Wister, Oklalhoma. Just some options.
