Thumbup 2012--5th Annual Pashnit Girly Ride

Date
July 12th-15th
Meeting in Weaverville on Thursday July 12.
Ride to Crescent City over some absolutely amazing roads on Friday July 13.
Ride to Shelter Cove over more amazing coastal routes Saturday July 14. Ride back to our perspective homes on Sunday July 15.

Usual stuff:
The PASHNIT GIRLY RIDE IS FOR WOMEN ONLY. That means this ride is designated for a group of women who have chosen to ride together, party together and over all be free to do what women do without men being around at either the start of the ride or the end of the ride.

I don't believe I can be any more straight forward than those words.

Those of you that want your husbands to accompany you to the start of the ride, that's fine, however they will be dropping you off and going to hang with the men in another place.

What has made this ride special for all of us, is that we are able to let our hair down, speak freely, wear underwear and show off tattoos. We are able to do this all because we share gender. We request it to be kept that way.

This is a once a year event...FOR WOMEN, BY WOMEN, please respect this.

Required riding experience
Please note that though all these roads are paved that there are some goaty sections. Please be sure you are feeling confident riding a little goat!

This ride is open to all levels of riders, however if you have less than 5K miles, please have a mentor rider accompany you and one that is willing to stick by your side throughout the ride! This will be the only exception for a newbie rider to ride this ride.

2011 Routes
Day One--Meet in Weaverville Thursday July 12 or you can pull in along the route on Friday July 13.[/url]

Day Two through the Redwoods

Sunday July 15th will be heading home to Sacto for me but I am willing to be coerced otherwise.

Motels

Meet in Weaverville at the Red Hill Motel unless you can suggest something better. I couldn't find much. This place is cheap and looks ok, nuthin' special.

Y'awl have way more fun that the law will allow and try not to lose all the cameras....

Lookin' forward to the usual excellent RR and pics when you return

Re: 2012--5th Annual Pashnit Girly Ride

As much as I want to go, looks like another Girly Ride I will have to miss. Can't see getting time off mid summer from work(assuming I'm still working) and then the following week is the Women's Conference up in Carson.

Anything could change but after the last couple of lean years, I can't afford to take time off from work.

Looks like an awesome trip as usual. Will definitely have it penciled in.

Boo Hoo.

Won't be able to make it as I will be heading to Topeka, KS for a pre-BMWMOA Streetmasters event.

Those roads look great! Just the type I love!

I hope to see some of you ladies at the Women's Conference in Carson City!

Re: 2012--5th Annual Pashnit Girly Ride

Woo hoo, thanks D, for the arrangements so far. FYI, not all the roads are paved. There is about a 10 mile section of Bald Hills Road that is good gravel:

It's certainly doable with a road bike, if one is comfortable with such riding. Land barges and cruisers did just fine on it on last years' pashnit CA/OR ride.

I'll scout out other hotel options in Weaverville and check out the Red Hill. It looks cute from the outside, but some of those reviews make it sound a bit sketchy inside.

That road is fine for moi, but I am certain others will NOT be happy...i'll probably be researching another alternate route!! Not only gravel, but 18wheelers...uhhhh, no thanks!

Thanks Bonnie...you know those roads!!

Re: 2012--5th Annual Pashnit Girly Ride

I, for one, would rather not do gravel like that. I don't think Joan is too keen on it either...Yes please, alternate route!!

Last time ya'all took me and The Princess on a Dirt/Gravel road I had to clean fork oil off everything...which took precious drinkin' time off the clock..
