Re: Picasa users
I tried it. I'm not surprised. It was awkward compared to Flickr. The Google integration and indexing was invasive and confusing.

Re: Picasa users
Flickr is very simple to use. Not very configurable, but for basic configuring sets and creating collections it's not too bad. Smugmug is a much more configurable service, but much more expensive. I think I pay something like $40/yr for unlimited storage with Flickr.
If what you need is a place to post your photos so you can link them to on-line forums, then Flickr will work well for you (it's the one I use for most of my stuff like this). jdg

Re: Picasa users
What he said. There's nothing clever about it, so it works fine. Hotlinks work fine, it generates BBcode or HTML for you. Pay for space past a certain reasonable limit.

Re: Picasa users
I don't believe it. There is no such thing as a premium user. You can buy additional storage in different amounts, which I did, and I got no notification about closing and refund ??? Where did you hear that ? I'm using Picasa for ages and love it . They just ramped up picasa to Google standards ( version 3.9 ), so I think what you heard, is just a myth.

Re: Picasa users
I believe some clarification may be needed here. I am a Picasa user and don't believe it is shutting down. In fact the download is still available and nothing is said about closing. However, Picasa will direct you to "Picnik" which is a website used to adjust photos. There is a message about Picnik is closing down but nothing about Picasa.

Re: Picasa users
OK, you are using picnik to edit your photos in Picasa. Picnik, indeed, is closing in April. Picasa is not affected by that at all , and you still can edit your pics in Picasa.
